Crock Pot Steel Cut Oat Meal
Try this recipe for hot organic oatmeal made in a crock pot, fun for the whole family & easy to make!
1 Cup of Irish Steel Cut Oats (Please do not use old-fashioned or quick cooking oats)
5 Cups of Filtered Water
1/2 Cup of optional mixture of flax seed, bran, black sesame seed powder or dried fruits, such as dates, apricots, raisins or prunes.
Place all of the above ingredients into a 2 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low overnight (7-8 hours). It will be ready in the morning! Remember to turn off & unplug your crock pot. Your oat meal can be eaten plain or you may add organic milk (soy, almond, oat, coconut etc.). Sprinkle cinnamon or brown sugar or drizzle with honey, maple syrup or agave (to taste).
